MID-ATLANTIC CONSORTIUM OF EDUCATION FOUNDATIONS INC.
Founded in 2004, the Mid-Atlantic Consortium of Education Foundations (MACEF) is a non-profit foundation dedicated to improving public education. To accomplish this goal, MACEF supports the establishment of new local education foundations and the nurturing of existing education foundations. MACEF recognizes that while local education foundations differ in how they support their school districts, the programs they offer and their internal structure, they share common goals: to support public education and to serve as a link between the community and its public schools.
MACEF strengthens public education by facilitating the creation, growth and effectiveness of local education foundations. Encompassing the states of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland, it serves as a voice in the education foundation movement, promoting the benefits to the public, and sharing and collaborating between education foundations and other community organizations. MACEF believes that local education foundations are in a unique position to identify and secure important resources in support of local schools. MACEF operates upon one constant found in all studies of education: parent and community involvement is critical to improving public schools.
