What links the following items?
- Students entering 9th grade spend a day at Camp Swatara building friendship, cooperation, and responsibility which lasts through the school year
- Ruby Bridges, civil rights pioneer, speaks with 500 fifth grade students who have read her book, “Through My Eyes”
- Community organizations work with three neighborhood schools to design a family resource center which will provide non-academic services to support academic achievement
- Over $300,000 is raised and invested in math and science resources for classrooms
- High school students in biology, building trades, and computer graphics classes research, design, and build a nature trail, complete with educational stations on the high school campus
All are projects supported by the Lancaster Foundation for Educational Enrichment for the benefit of students in the School District of Lancaster!
The LFEE believes that the path of the future is in our schools and that the greater community has the responsibility to aid, assist, and champion the teaching and learning that takes place in the SDoL classrooms. When gifts are made to a foundation that supports public schools, the donor is making a free-will choice, believing that those dollars will go directly to students and that positive change will occur.
